LinkedIn recently released a new free grading system called the LinkedIn Social Selling Index (SSI). While the tool has 'selling' in the name, it is not only for sales people, it measures how effective you are at establishing your professional brand, finding the right people, engaging with insights and building relationships on LinkedIn.
To see how you rank click the Yellow Get Your Score button. And just like that insights will appear showing you where you fit in your industry and network, on that day and over the week, based on a figure out of 100.
The graph is handily broken down into four categories:
These are the four core areas of LinkedIn and you can see at a glance how well you are doing in each and what needs improvement. I know that my professional brand is doing well on LinkedIn, and also that I need to engage more with insights and building relationships. The graph backed this up.
Don’t look at your overall score and think you are not doing well - instead look at each category individually and look down further at how you compare with others in your industry and in your network. You can also see how you have improved since the previous week.
Now you know, what can you do with it?
